Madison County, classified as East Central Texas, sits at the crossroads of I 45 and Highway 21 and Highway 75. Approximately, 16,000,000 people, reside within two and one-half hours driving time of Madison County: the metropolitan areas of Dallas-Fort Worthis 140 miles north; Austin is 140 miles west, Bryan-College Station is 36 miles southwest; and Houston is 90 miles south. County boundaries are formed by the Navasota River on the west and the Trinity River on the east. It is 110 north of the Ship Channel. Madison County is expected to experience substantial economic growth during the next ten years.

Regional air service offers several options. Commercial flights can be caught at Easterwood Airport located on the west side of College Station ( 45 minutes) or Houston Bush Airport (1 ½ hour)  For other air service needs, Coulter Field is located 11 miles to the southwest of Bryan and provides a 4,000 foot runway. Coulter Field offers full service and 24-hour self-service 100LL and Jet A fuel, Hangars, Tie Down, and a courtesy car.  Air charter is available for passenger, cargo, priority documents, hazardous materials and air ambulance. For smaller needs, Madisonville Municipal Airport offers a 3202 X 50 foot runway 4-miles southwest of town located at 2209 Airport Lane which is off FM 1452 East.  It is not attended and has no fuel available.
